Hello Everyone! I'm back with a hat, which I made for my DD, although I kind of look neat in it, too. It was a fun project to crochet and relatively quick, too. It would have been even quicker, but I just couldn't get the desired gauge and texture for the top portion of the hat, and consequently had to frog several times before I finally got it. In the original pattern instructions, the designer suggests crocheting the top part with three strands of crochet cotton, but I decided to just use the same thickness of yarn as suggested for the lower part. In the end, instead of the suggested 3-3.25 mm crochet hook, I ended up using a 4.5 mm hook for the top part, and 3.5 mm for the bottom part. The yarn, which I used, is Burrow Worsted from Willow Yarns. Overall, I really like this hat. The top portion is somewhat stiff, which allows it to be shaped and positioned in many ways. It's configuration also transforms (hence the title of the pattern - "Transformer Hat") when the wearer changes his/her position. The pattern/tutorial, published by Julia SimpleCraftTutorials, can be purchased via Etsy, or Craftsy. That's about it for today. Thank you so much for all your visits and comments. Have a wonderful day.
